Engagement Types

Pick the intensity that matches the code's risk level and your timeline. Sherlock helps you configure package and participant mix for each shape. Custom setups are available when a preset does not fit.

1) Focused sprint AI engagement

A concentrated set of AI participants reviews your scope. You typically see initial results in hours.

Best when you want:

  • A fast pre-audit check or PR-sized pass

  • Quick signal on whether AI auditors find real issues on this codebase

  • Short cleanup before a larger engagement

2) Comprehensive-style AI engagement

A larger-scale AI stack (more auditors, models, and skills) reviews your scope. Initial results still arrive in hours; judging can take an extra day as volume grows.

Best when you want:

  • Broader AI coverage but don't want to add human security researchers into the mix yet

  • Stronger parallel pressure than a focused sprint

  • Benchmarking across a wider participant mix

3) Intensive AI + Security Researcher engagement

A multi-day engagement where the kitchen sink is thrown at the codebase: AI auditors, base models / skills (and swarms where configured), plus invited and/or reserved security researchers. Judging typically lasts an extra day or two after submissions wrap.

Best when you want:

  • Maximum vulnerability-finding power from AI and humans together

  • Full coverage of a codebase with time for human security researchers to get context on the codebase

  • Full benchmarking of the best approaches across all fields for your codebase (optimized to what you care about across 20+ metrics)

These shapes are starting patterns. Custom setups are common. Sherlock will provide options for engagement shape and package / participant mix when you configure the engagement.

What Sherlock configures with you

  • Engagement shape (one of the three above, or custom)

  • Package / participant mix

  • Start and end windows

  • Rules and expectations around marketing and public engagement visibility

  • Optional NDA requirement for participants

After Audit Engine

If you need staffed depth, remediation loops, or release sign-off after an Audit Engine engagement, ask Sherlock about a follow-on fix review, Collaborative Audits, or Blackthorn. Those are separate offerings; confirm what is in your SOW.
